Kataba Chair by Alexander Pelikan
Alexander Pelikan is a Dutch designer and founder of PeLiDesign, an international design studio and focuses on creating outstandingly innovative products with a specific focus on detail and functionality. He graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2006. He specializes in eye-catching, experimental product and furniture design, and places special emphasis on sustainability. He often juxtaposes traditional and contemporary materials and processes in pursuit of his ongoing interest in “cybercraft.”
The KATABA chair is presented for the first time on the Salone del Mobile, Milan in 2014. Pictures by Bas Berends.
Japanese tradition of precision craftsmanship became the inspiration for the KATABA table. The legs of the table are easily attachable (and detachable) through an intuitive connecting system (kind of a next level click-system).

The Plastic Nature is a furniture concept which exemplifies the connection of the “plastic-world” and the world of wooden furniture.

J’adoube Chessboard. The board and all the pieces are made of Naturalia, an HPL material by ARPA Industriale. The pieces and the board have been designed to capture the essence of the individual chess piece and to simplify the production process (CNC milling).
The case is made of bonded leather, a sustainable material using left over leather fibers and natural latex.
The “J’adoube” chessboard was designed and produced for Broadview Holding B.V.
