Bringing radical innovation to the $10 billion X-ray industry.

Tylor Garland, Founder and CEO of Boombang, an Innovation Agency / Venture Incubator based in Los Angeles, California, has spent his career developing a proven, deeply integrated methodology to launching products, brands and business strategies, which translates as well in boardrooms as it does in creative war rooms. His work has been featured in Wired, GQ, and Fortune Magazine, and has been on display at the MoMA and the Whitney, receiving numerous awards including recognition from IDSA and Red Dot.

Tylor’s strategy has paid off with over 500 products launched since Boombang’s inception in 2002, generating close to $3 billion in retail revenue. During this short time period, Boombang has amassed an impressive portfolio of brands, products and intellectual property, in addition to securing global design partnerships with top-notch companies including Harman International, Simmons, Disney, Viacom, ConAgra, Logitech, Church & Dwight, Target and Newell Rubbermaid.

Tylor brought battle-hardened experience from over a decade of working with renowned international design agencies to his launch of Boombang. He previously held posts as Director at Fitch Inc. and Managing Director of Product Development and Engineering at frog design, where he worked with such best-in-class companies as Apple, IBM, Packard Bell, AT&T, Iomega, Harman International, Mattel, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung and Ford Motor Company. He stepped out in the wild blue yonder with Boombang because he sensed a growing gap between the world of product innovation and successful product commercialization. He enjoys sharing his philosophy of bringing together the creative space and the marketplace as Art Center faculty and guest lecturer for organizations such as CCA, UCLA, Drucker and Harvard Business School.

Boombang suggested shifting Simmons’ focus from the Bed of Tomorrow to the Bedroom of Tomorrow. This would not only differentiate Simmons from its competitors, but also create new opportunities to connect with consumers outside of traditional channels—all without any significant increase in advertising costs. Welcome to the Sleep Revolution.
